Ethical podcasting practices

Host: Alison Innes

Rapid technological changes have made it easier than ever to create podcasts. Technical how-to information is easily found online, but podcasters wishing to practice their craft in an ethical, caring, and responsible way are often left to handle complex situations on their own. Interested podcast creators, listeners, and academic experts are invited to join a working group to develop best practice guidelines for ethical podcasting.

AI in Podcasting

Host: Wesley Livesay

Generative AI is being marketed as powerful a powerful tool to assist in content production, including podcasts. What are their current and future capabilities? What are the ethical considerations of Generative LLMs whether for writing scripts, creating promotional materials, or even for generating full podcasts with AI voices? Where do they fit in the Humanities Podcasters toolbox? Join the new Working Group to help us to determine what the future of AI in Humanities podcasting can and should be.

What are Working Groups?

HPN members participate in a number of active working groups in order to expand the scope and impact of our work. This ranges from generating podcasting pedagogy resources to hosting an annual virtual symposium to producing newsletters and social media posts.

If you are interested in joining an existing initiative, please consult our evolving list of HPN working groups and reach out to the contact person. If no contact is listed, please express interest in an email addressed to humanitiespodnetwork@gmail.com.
